My findings from my spreadsheet

From the information from my spreadsheet I managed to find out that most people that completed our survey were between the ages of 13 and 15, and most were female, only a few males participated. Also, according to the spreadsheet all of them go to school without any form of job and most people own a games console. The games that were most popular for games consoles came out as ‘Just Dance’  and ‘Mario Cart’. The most popular radio station was kiss 100, and the favourite DJ was Chris Moyles. The majority of the people who took part visit the cinemas on a regular basis, and the film most of them went to see was ‘Step-Up 3D’. Also, 13 out of the 18 people said they owned a digital TV and almost all the people use facebook.to interact with friends online. 

TV LISTINGS MAGAZINE PROJECT

In class we were asked to design a TV listings Magazine. In this task we designed each of our front covers by choosing a price (posh, average, tacky) and then we would base the design on which type we chose. I chose posh, because I thought my magazine front page did not look tacky and that it actually looked quite expensive compared to some of the already existing magazines I have seen. Such as, Radio times, tv quick and tv choice. Radio Times, was the posh top of the range one and personally I preferred it.

One of the other reasons I chose to design a top of the range magazine was because I actually preferred the kind of style the more expensive magazines have, and actually rather disliked the bright colours on the tacky cheap magazines. I also chose not to put a picture of a soap star on the front because I thought it would look more original if some more unknown programme was on the front.

For my main feature I chose Iwan Rheon because he is in a programme called ‘Misfits’, he is named Simon and this programme is actually a very popular programme for people in my sort of age range, so my target market was more leaned towards teenagers or early twenties then the adults. Iwan Rheon, is also very appealing to my generation, so it would also maybe attract my age range more. For my title I chose to use a basic one so I didn’t take too much attention away from the actual theme of my magazine, so in conclusion to this thought I named it ‘Telly Times’. The background of my design was a blue texture that looked kind of like carpet, I chose it because I thought it suited the rest of my magazine very well, and went well with the picture of Simon. My colour scheme was invented by mainly darker colours like dim reds, faded blues, blacks and greys. Another element I used was too match the style of writing to this theme, I used a kind of rough looking writing.

What should be the lead story of the Goffs Glossy magazine?

In my group there was Hollie, Katie, Georgiana and myself. In our lessons it was decided that for our magazine Glossy Goffs we would all go out and interview certain teachers which were selected and then put on a list so we could go find and then interview them. The teachers that we interviewed were Mrs Keenan, Miss Austin, Miss Presney, Mrs Ilsley and even our head teacher! Ms Garner.

in this questionnaire we asked questions like;
'What subjects Do you teach?'
'What do you really think of the new school uniform?'
'What do you think the most successful change that has happeneed to the school this year?'
'Do you think any of the subjects taught are actually irrelevant?'
'Are you close to any of the other teachers and if so name them'
'What do you read?'


The teachers that we interviewed answers these questions with ease and honesty one teacher even said that if it had been her in our positions she would of definately rolled up the skirt a few times and she would of absolutely hated it. We also found out who the most popular teachers are, they were Mrs Fricker and Mrs Conolly, we found this out from the answers to the question 'Are you close to any of the other teachers and if soi name them'.

The majority of the teachers also commented on the change of Goffs Schools GCSE levels, as they have dramatically improved. they said that they felt quite proud and that they belivieved this would help us in life.
